Our Olive Tank Siding has unique character imparted by the tank contents that make it a truly one-of-a-kind treasure. It was used on the Fall 2005 season of This Old House and has been chosen for Surface Magazine’s most current concept home. The rich variation and darkening caused by years of use has mellowed the redwood to create a patina rarely found and perfect for creating a look of age and permanence. Redwood has been a siding option for centuries, due to its weather resistance and amazing durability. This siding comes from olive tanks built by the George Windeler Company, Ltd. Established in 1885, the George Windeler Company of San Francisco was the largest redwood tank manufacturer on the West Coast until it closed in 1964. |
