Product Description: TerraMai’s Fishtail
Oak is no ordinary oak. This oak originates in the tropics of Asia
and is used in worldwide industrial shipping. The name “Fishtail
Oak” derives from the wood’s mottled, almost iridescent
figuring. The color tones of this wood range from golden tans and
coppers with silver, rose and burgundy overtones. The wood is also
characterized by distinctive black marbling. Originally selected
to withstand the rigors inherent in the global shipping of steel
ingots and heavy equipment, our new Fishtail Oak is also extremely
durable. This wood accumulates in ports and often ends up in landfills.
TerraMai diverts this beautiful, durable wood from the waste stream
and gives it a second life.
