vintage teak turning blocks
Like unpolished gem stones, these Teak Turning
Blocks just need a little work to gleam like jewels. These teak
blocks are the end cuts of teak beams taken from antique pole structures
in Southeast Asia. These classic structures are being taken down
to make way for new development. The vintage, old-growth Asian teak
reclaimed from these buildings is vastly superior to new, plantation-grown
teak from Central America, in both structure and appearance. The
as-is surface of these pieces is replete with weathered character.
Remilled, the wood reveals an incredible swirl of mellow golds,
coppers and tans, with rich brown and silver grain highlights. This
material is well-suited for furniture projects, as well as trim
accents and other applications. At $10 per board foot, this inventory
is a rare bargain. Must be purchased as a unit, with approximately
400 board feet per unit.
